Terms and Conditions

Please note that in coming to a Singing Roots singing circle/event, you are confirming that you agree to the terms and conditions set out below and are responsible for your own safety.

GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT SINGING ROOTS EVENTS:

Photos and videos are sometimes taken during some singing events and shared on social media. If you do not want to be in any of these or do not feel comfortable with this in any way, please let me know.

Please note: Whilst our circles are aimed at adults and older children, younger children are welcome to join the circle and sing, or can just be in the space and soak it all in. Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult. In coming to the event you are confirming that you will be responsible for your own safety and that of the children and young people you bring with you.

There will be a trained first aider at all circles. In coming to the event, you are agreeing that you give consent for this person to administer first aid to you and any minors in your party if needed and that you will let the first aider know of any information they may need ahead of the circle. If you are not comfortable with this and do not give your consent, please let me know ahead of the circle.

IF YOU HAVE BOUGHT A CHILDREN'S TICKET:

Children are most welcome and it is lovely to have them there! However, as I will be running the singing circle, please know that by bringing children along you are confirming that you will be completely responsible for their safety and wellbeing while in the village hall or the woods and surrounding area. Please make sure that they either stay in the area in which we are singing, or join in with the circle.

Please also know that there will be some moments of quiet to let a song sink in, to take a moment to connect with ourselves etc so as long as the children coming feel comfortable with this then they are most welcome. If you have any questions at all, please don't hesitate to contact me.

If you are bringing children/minors with you, it is implied that you are giving consent for them to be treated by the first aider in an emergency too. Again, if this isn’t the case, please let our first aider know.

FOR EVENTS AT BIRCHWOOD YOGA:

When the weather gets colder and wetter, some events move to Birchwood Yoga studio. This will be mostly inside in a beautiful cosy yoga studio, however we will be spending some of our time outside (within reason and as long as we will be safe - i.e. not in high winds) so please bring appropriate attire for the weather on the day.  There are toilets and drinking water. I will provide hot water and herbal teas but please bring anything you might need to keep yourself comfortable. We will be mostly sitting on the floor or bolster cushions but please bring your own cushion or something to sit on if this would be more comfortable for you. Please note that this is an evening event and will therefore be dark with moments outside. There will be some small lanterns but please bring a torch or whatever you need to safely get to and from the circle.

Whilst the woods and outside spaces are checked regularly to create as safe an environment as possible, there can still be hazards such as loose branches, slippery paths, water, an open fire and tripping hazards etc. In coming to the event, you are agreeing that you are aware of this and will be responsible for your own safety. The ground can be uneven and slippery when wet. There is a short walk to where we will be singing. The studio is up two flights of stairs, so if you have any mobility issues or requirements, please get in touch and I will do my best to accommodate.

FOR EVENTS OUTDOORS/IN THE WOODS:

This is an outdoor event and will go ahead whatever the weather (within reason and as long as we will be safe - i.e. not in high winds) so please bring appropriate attire for the weather on the day.  There are compost toilets and drinking water. I will provide hot water and herbal teas but please bring your own mug and anything you might need to keep yourself comfortable.

Whilst the woods are checked regularly to create as safe an environment as possible, there can still be hazards such as loose branches, water, an open fire and tripping hazards etc. In coming to the event, you are agreeing that you are aware of this and will be responsible for your own safety. The ground can be uneven and there is a short walk (2-3 minutes, including a very short bridge and some steps) to where we will be singing. We will be mostly standing but please feel free to bring a chair or something to sit on if you don't want to stand or sit on the ground/a tree stump. If you have any mobility issues or requirements, please get in touch and I will do my best to accommodate.

When parking in the private woodland, please be aware that there is very limited parking on site and there may be other vehicles around the parking areas. There are some spaces off site; these are a ten minute walk away and half of this includes walking along a country road. Please be aware that cars may come along the road and that you are responsible for your own safety.

In the private woodland there is a tree-house structure. If you use this, you do so at your own risk.

Please note that some of these singing circles are held in private, ancient woodland so please be respectful of the land and the fact that we are near someone's home. Please don't visit this site at times other than for the singing circle for which you have a ticket. Occasionally we will go into the woods next to the village hall - these are public woods and therefore there may be members of the public in this space, please be aware of this. We may also meet to sing outside in the dark. If this is the case you will be given ample warning and will be responsible for bringing any torches that you may need and keeping yourself safe.
